Candle snuffer!

Last Christmas a friend of my made me some wonderfull
candles, that gave me the idea to make a candle snuffer,
to put out the little candles. I looked at my own candle
snuffer to give me some inspiration.....
Today my eyes catched a beautifull purchase Susanna did....
A candle snuffer exactly the same I made....I was all forgotten
about it and had to look for it.If I had known this earlier I could
have saved her some money...sorry!
So, to save the rest of you some money..look at the pics!

Still trying to improve!

Before

After

So weird, sometimes you can be so happy with
the results of something you have been doing,
and you think "it really can not be better",but
a few weeks later you think"is this all I could
come up with?" That is exactly what is happening
to the pantry. Now I can see what improvements
can and should be done! First I changed the bakers
rack and now I make look the fence door a little bit
more used.

The next thing I'm going to do is tiling the walls....

Never Satisfied!

There is always something you can change, make
it look better! Like this metal kitchen cabinet/hutch.
(what is it anyway?)

I thought it looked too new and it would
be nicer if I painted it in a different color.
What do you think, better or shall I.......?

Jeux de Boules!

Jeux de Boules is a French ball game...I once looked how
some old men played the game and I liked it very much.
Though we had a set to play,I never did and gave this box
away and now I regret this a little bit....

I thought it would be nice to have a new one and I made a
copy of the one I gave away.... The box is made from wood
and the balls are made from real metal. They are resting in
a foam pad with holes to keep them in place.

If I may dictate Linda Carswell ....

"It's amazing what we have hidden aways in boxes and
forgotten about.....but I guess we are all the same?"

She made a beautiful notice board for her junk/sewing attic
room and reminded me of my plans making a sewing room in
a shabby chique style.... So it was time to find the box hiding
the mini's I already made for this room and forgotten all about it!

Thank you Linda...I know for sure many things will be found!

Visiting Sylvia!

It took me some time but finaly I could go and visit Sylvia!

I can tell you that it was a fantastic day and "wow" her mini's
look great at the pics but in real you can't imagine how more
beautiful they are...she also gave me a copy of the Spanish
magazine were she and Mercedes where published in and I'm
thrilled about it that I have one!

She also made me these wonderful bottles for the
wine cellar....she is the best!!!
We talked and talked and talked and she made me
delicious lunch, ooooh we had such a great time!

Thank you lieve Sylvia!

I want to make something clear....Some time ago
Lisette gave us a kit at the kladblog meeting to make
little cute steps you can fold as the real one.
I posted about it to show it to you and the response was great!
I told Lisette all about it and advised her to sell these steps as a kit.
Before all that, I asked Lisette her permission to make one off these little steps for a dear friend and she approved by that. Unfortunately the postman decided not to deliver it the first
time I made it and it took me some time to make a new one and sent it the second time!
Finaly it is arrived and it made someone very happy and me too, haha! To have no misunderstanding and claer out that I do not streik with the honor of someone elses work these wonderful steps are designed bythe hand of Lisette!
Go over to her blog if you are interessted in buying one of these cute steps!

A day with Karin!

Today Karin came to visit me,and I can tell you
it was a fantastic day! She brought me a present,
and I'm over the moon excited about this... it is a
designer miniature chair!

The Earo Aarnio Pastil Chair!

Here it is,I fotographed it in front of a
design book with the same chair on the cover!

I love these miniature designers and collecting them!
I had already once purchased the Chaise Longue from
Le Corbusier,so now I have two of these designer chairs!

Karin sells these beautiful designer chairs,so if you are
interested take a look at her blog!
You can also mail her at djbkbb@xs4all.nl .

Out that we talked a lot we also find some time to do some
crafting! We made baskets...I once saw the idea at Grumbler
and Poppet dutch blog and wanted to have one of these !

This is the result...it is for the Long Island
Beach House...... one day to make?

Just Married!

My big sister and who is also my best friend is just married!
During the day we were at my house where I had prepared
a lunch for the guests I also did all the decorations myself...
At night there was a big party with live music provided by
my husband and his band!
It was a great day to remember!
If you want to see more pics ga over to my Lifestyle blog or
klick the picture!

Cabinet!

I've created a cabinet for the cellar, except
the stairs and a lot of barrels and bottles I think
it is finished for now.

There were some questions about the processing
of the walls and floors. It is very simple, you use
sandpaper , a sharp object and a ruler.Draw lines in
the sandpaper and bring it on color with paint!
The rest speaks for itself ....

Yesterday I spent all day coming up with a
base for the wine cellar. Nothing came out
of my hands, and everything I tried failed.

Texas Belle gave me a link with a beautiful
picture with a wine cellar and this finally has
gave me the inspiration.

Thank you Texas Belle!!!

There has been a leak in the cellar, the drain
in the utiliti room was the cause... at the ground
you see the damage. The ceiling has the same damage.
Unfortunately it was too dark,to show it on the
pictures. You can not see the detail that well .
By the way, the leak caused the damage is solved ....

There is still no stairs, but I decided to buy
one,sometimes I get a little bit lazy.....
So the next thing to make is some furniture?

Wine Cellar!

I'm started with the second showcase off my big project,
the wine cellar.I've only whitewashed the walls, but wanted
to show you anyways. It will not be a big wine cellar, still
asking myself how I can fill it? There are a lot of wine barrels
and bottles needed to fill this cellar?

Even when there is not much to see yet and it will take years
to fill it,I could not resist to put the best miniature already in
the empty room....

The seat Leo Furtado made me,it is perfect for the wine cellar!

Worth Waiting For!

Nearly 7 weeks ago Mercedes sent me an envelope, containing
a tabletop for the frame she already had sent me.Unfortunately
the package never came. Mercedes as sweet as she is,comforted
me by saying that she would make me a new one, but today the
lost package finally found the way to my house .... and it was worth
waiting for. See for yourself!

The table is pefect...the colors and little ornaments inside and
my own logo,amazing!
The picture frame with Sylvia and Mercedes waiting
for me in Paris, how cute is that!
The wonderful books, with a mini version of Léa Frisoni's
book!

What more can I say....THANK YOU MERCEDES!

Chopping Block!

I thought a chopping block would be a nice
addition in the pantry so I set to work. I also
have made a machete and other sharp knives.
I got the blades not right at the picture, but
they all have a cutting edge and nails like a real
knife. There are some little things I want to add
but this was the last piece of furniture.

Working on the ceiling!

Today I continued the ceiling of the stockroom.
I wanted to place a great old bar so I had to find
a suitable piece of wood.
