Stove....

I have made a stove for the kitchen. First I wanted to buy one, but the price was beyond my budget so I thought it was cheaper to make one myself. For the inspiration I surched on the net and made up my own design. At first everything went well, until the paint job:(
I'm not pleased with the result at all, luckily the photo is not so clear so you can't see all the faults. For now the stove will stay, even it is not perfect at all....

  1. Even if you think your stove is not perfect... I think it is!!!!

It looks fantastic and it's great to do things on your own instead of buying them :-)

  3. I think you have done a great job making the stove... I´ve been browaing the net the last couple of days since I wanted to make a stove for my French Mouse Mansion. I ended up ordering a cream aga. Now I´ll see how it fints the kitchen when it arrives.

  4. Dear Sab, there is nothing wrong with your stove. It has an old world look about it. It's a special stove because it's not something that we will see everywhere. It's unique to you. I think it complements the look you are going for. I absolutely love it!

    1. Thank you Lucille, I needed to make the stove first, because it determined the width of the chimney. That is the next thing to do...the chimney!

  5. I think you are being too hard on yourself! It's brilliant! May I ask what you used to build it?

    1. Well maybe I am a bit hard...but in real you can see the faults beter:( I build it from wood, studs and some beads:)

    1. Thank you, I indendet to give it a creme colour, but as I told the painting job turned out bad, so I had to choose an other colour. Because I used this colour in every room, I decided to make the stove in this colour too;)

  11. If my work looked half as good as this, I'd be thrilled. But, it is your house and it should be to your standards, not anyone else's. The next one will be perfect, I'm sure.

  12. Just repaint it Sab, if you are not happy with it. Otherwise like the others said, it's pretty good as it is. Some of my real life furniture look way messier than your stove!

I wouldn't make another one too if the 1st one is already this wonderful.

    1. No painting anymore...the stove has to stay this way....and like you say, if I would ever make an other one, I will not make the same mistakes;)

  17. Not perfect??? Why on earth everything has to be perfect??

  19. Wow Sab! What ever you are unhappy with is totally invisible to me and everyone else! This stove is wonderful and has a charm that is perfect in its uniqueness and originality! I love the fact that you made it a 6 burner gas stove. Everyone learns by experience that the more burners, the better and for mini cooks, as soon as you confine yourself to only 4, then all the nice cookware has to be displayed elsewhere because there is not enough room on the stovetop ..... ( It is always wise to plan around the featured component than have something not fit, after the fact.) This stove is sooooo well done and I am greatly impressed with your finished product! Again; Wow!
