A suitcase and more bed room:)))))

As I told you I attended a workshop by Wim van Soest.

Wim is a fantastic man, and a very good teacher and explains

everything clearly. He is an amazing artist and makes the most

wonderful, working miniatures! He has no website,sorry?

She was a wonderful hostess the whole day, and she take good care

of us.

This is the suitcase I have made, I wanted to show you more

detailed pictures, but my old camera died just a couple of minutes ago.

I'm very proud of my suitcase and I exactly know, in what

scene I will use it...but that is an other project I have in mind.

First I planning to finish my French house before I start a new one:))))

So, I show you pictures I had in stock of the bed room.

Don't mind the floor, that is the last thing to do in this room, but

still did not figured out what kind of floor it will be?

The ceiling is also finished in this room...in the bath room I

did the same with the ceiling...show you an other time:)

I also made sheets and cushions for the bed. Of course it

needs a blanked and perhaps more cushions but that

I'll fix later:)))

I also add a canopy with padded blue silk fabric over the bed,

to make it look more romantic.

Last week I had some free time (just like today:)))

to work on my miniatures..having so much fun!!!

But because I don't know how long it will last, I'm working like

a crazy woman,;)))) I finished some more things

in the French house and I realy like to show it to you, but

I have to wait for a new camera???

Today I had a wonderful day...I followed a workshop from Wim van Soest,

but more about that tomorrow. The day was just perfect, and when I

came home, there was an other surprise waiting for me.

My give-away I won by Flora, by casa delle Bamboli

arrived by mail........

This beautiful frame with tiny sea shells was the give-away I won.

Absolutely adorable...too cute I think :))))))

But a second surprise was this extra gift?

Wow, isn't it amazing!!!!

This carpet is just fantastic...the colors and style are

just perfect for the French house, and will be just the

right piece for the floor in the living room.

Of course I had to play with my new gifts and the

frame has this perfect place in the bed room of the Greek house.

I can't beleive it myself, but I finished the bathroom?

Well, I finished the floor etc. and did some little decoration too.

That is the most fun part for me, decorating!!!

I still miss the bath, shower and wash stand and

lots of other stuff to fill the bathroom, but for now I'm happy:)))

The treat of having a room finished is, that you can

open all your little boxes, and get all the little treasures out to give

them a place....treasures from dear friends and purchased goods,

made by talented miniaturists.

The quality of the photographes are not that good, but I hope you

enjoy them as well?

Free Time??????

Yesterday I had a busy day, my calendar was full of appointments and other things to do!

Then suddenly the unexpected happened, two appointments were canceled and I had some free time!!!!

I felt a kind of panic and wanted to devote my time to good use....

so what to do???????

I decided to work on my French House, but the first two hours, nothing came

out of my hands. Where to sart or begin?

After waisting two precious hours...I started with the whittening of all ceilings,

useful job if have nothing better to do......

After that I started with some progress in the bathroom. I already made some molds

of stone for the walls, but never had time to confirm them. So next job was done...

Than I made a frame to devide the bathroom from the coridor, it needs some glass

but there is a begin. It is unbeleivable but my progress goes in the right direction!!!

To top the heat level , I also made a begin for the floor tiles...should not get

any crazier:)))))))))))))))))

Though I know you like to see more miniatures from my hand, I have to tell

you that I'm still not into the miniatures. There are so many other things to need

to be care off in real live that I simply decided to work on my projects around

Christmas time I think????

A couple of weeks ago I did make a mattress for the bed....

I know it needs sheets etc, but for now it will stay this way.

Last weer I received a wonderful surprise by mail!

It was a package from my dear frien Jollie, who lives in

Greece!!!

She sent me some nice goodies,which perfectly match in my

Greek house that I received from Sylvia as a BD present!

TV Performance!

This time no miniatures, but the thing in 1:1 scale!

20 August I had my first tv performance on the Dutch sender TV Rijnmond.

It is a lifestyle programme named WEG, with a summer special about and for students.

My challenge was: Decorate 2 rooms for girl and boy student with furniture

from a recycle shop (second hand shop) .

BIG FAT GREEK B-DAY GIFT!!!!! Part 1

Last week Sylvia came to visit me...she told me that

she made me a B-Day present and that she could

not wait till next month to give it to me.

The photo above shows the size of this gift, and I was

just amazed and had no idea of what it was????

This came out...1 BIG FAT GREEK HOUSE!

I was thrilled and just amazed...I huged Sylvia

and was just speechless....?????

Isn't it just a wonderful house!!! As most of you know the

last months I had no inspiration at all, but this house

changed a lot for me!!!

I could not wait to start and decorate the house.

This was the best cure to get my inspiration

back!!!

Most of the miniatures I have collected over

the past years and finaly I have the perfect

house to display them in.

The only new items I made for this house,

are the kitchen table, bed and stove. Many

of the miniatures were gifts from special friends.

Ofcourse Sylvia and Mercedes and the food

on the table was a gift from Anthoula, who

lives in Greece!!!

I will not name all the gifts, because I already

did in older posts....

Dear friends, I know it has been a while since I have post on my blog. Real life kept me busy

and I had no time or any inspiration to work on my miniatures. I have to do some catching up with your blogs too, and have to welcome all my new followers...so a BIG WELCOME to all of you. Some days ago, I forced myself to work on the French house...and I managed to make

some progress with the bedroom.

Soon I will post about it, but now I wanted to show you some wonderful gifts I received from

my lovely friends. The little square cushion at the pic above was a gift from my dearest friend Sylvia...she knows I like to have a lot of cushions, thank you Sylvia!

WOW...O.M.G!!! was the first thing I shouted when I opened the package Casey, from http://caseymini.blogspot.com/ has sent me! A while ago she had this wonderful giveaway and I was one of the lucky winners. I could choose from a chair or a bassinet. Well, you can see what my choise was.......

The bassinet is truly a work of art, and so

cute!!!! Well, the secret is of course that Casey

had some help from a little (sometimes)sweet witch named Tessie.

This little lady makes Caseys live sometimes a bit difficult, but with

the bassinet she did a good job!

Did you noticed the little blue rabbit, sitting

in the bassinet....it is so tiny and cute!!!!

As if the bassinet wasn't already enough as

a gift, Casey had some more extras sent me.

A wonderful footstool with a beautiful blue

fabric, that is perfect for the bedroom in the

French house.

And this little basket...beleive me this photo

does not do justice to it.

For now I put the bassinet in the French house,

so I can see it the whole time. Eventually it

will move to an other project I have been working

on secretly.....one day I show it to you?????

Arnhem Fair 2011!

Bad cold or no cold...I went to the Arnhem Fair, with my dear friend Sylvia yesterday. The show was in the Eusebius Church and there were many miniatures showing their wonderful stuff. Though I like the setting of the curch...I like the show in the Rijnhal much more. I had a list with materials I needed to get some more work done on my house, like flooring and other stuff, but unfortunately for me I did not found it at the fair. There were many beautiful other miniatures I would have love to buy, if my budget would have allowed it!!!! Still I bought some stuff. Ribbon, little sea stars wallpaper, some plates, plant and glass items. The table is made by a miniaturist who lives in the same town like me. L.A. Little Artist, Huu Phuoc Nguyen...he makes amazing miniatures. www.la-littleartist.com The table was very cheap and I will change the color but I don't think I use it for the French house. On top of my list I had a glass and a tooth brush...the glass was commisioned for me at the show by Leo Reijnders. All the other glass items are also made by him. The little tooth brush I bought from Miniatur Puppenwelt Wengen. Every show visit, I have to buy something from them, because it is made in such perfection. I made promisse Sylvia that she would not bring any gifts for me.....Of course she did not listen and made me some gifts!!! Love every bit of it,XXX

She is not only good in making furniture she is also

good in making miniature scenes. She works on some

wonderful projects.

Last weeks I did not much done on the
French house. First no inspiration(still) and
now I simply have no time. I hardley can find
the time for blogging. So, no progress at all!

That is the reason of my absence lately and
I am ashamed that it took so long to show you
what I received from my wonderful friends
when I recently was visiting Sylvia.

Don't have to tell you that we had a fantastic
time together and I wished I could do this
every day!

This little birdcage was a gift from Margriet.
I love wired birdcages, so it wasn't that difficult
to find a nice spot for it in the house. I put a
little nest and antique book in it, Mercedes made
me.

Think it is made for this table!

From Ineke I received this wonderful, made
in perfection broom. It is just "WOW"!

She also made this cushion with print.
Love cushions, the more the better!

And if it wasn't already enough...she also
made this framed picture of a Lotus flower.

As you all know Sylvia can't stop spoiling me,
she also had some beautiful presents.

A handstitched towel and some potholders.
Of course in the right collors and perfect
for the kitchen.

And a box full of frames...how wonderful!

Round Table!

Yesterday I made a round table with a
white table cover. It is the size of a little
dining table so I can put a lot of stuff on it
with decorating purpose.

Little books were also a gift from Mercedes.

The advent calendar swap was a trick to fill

my house,lol!

The table will have a place between the

windows in the livingroom. Close your eyes

and imagine it with finished floor,walls and

ceiling......

This table....well this time it is made by me.

I don't have to tell you I got the inspiration from

Mercedes her famous shabby tables.

The whole table is made from metal and it will be

used in the bathroom.

Mirror, Mirror on the wall!

To get some inspiration...I grabed

a cup of tea and browsed through

Léa Frisoni's book!

Yes, a mirror...I need a mirror for my

bathroom! I took a good look at the

pictures and than looked what I had

around to make one myself.

I'm not the person who likes gold

colors on furniture...but, for the bathroom

I make an exception. White and some

gold touch!!!

Because I do not have enough materials to start with the
floors and ceilings, I tought I could just use my time for
some thinking and playing.

The next photo shows, the colors and furniture I will
use for the living room. The bench in the middle is one
I have in my possession for years now and has had several
times a different color.

The orchid is made by Carla Zandvliet and is from silk...
I also have some tiny butterflies she made! She has no site
or blog, she only sells her stuff at fairs. I put this beautiful
plant in a vase Mercedes made me. The little cushions with
the birdcage print and candle holder and two ornaments are
also a gift from her. The chair with webbing and wheels is too.
The wall ornament (on the chair)was a gift from Karin.

The other chair is a gift from Sylvia, she made it some years
ago for me. The cushion is also made by her...isn't it beautiful?

I am so excited about the thought of finaly using all these
wonderful gifts from my friends!

The next two photos show the furniture I will use for
the bedroom. In this room I will use some blue colors.

Except for the bird's nest and little blue canister with white
flowers(Mercedes) is made or bought by me.

The famous bench (Sylvia) with famous cushions (Rosanna).
The wall ornament (hanging on the bench) was a special gift
from Jody, some years ago. Used it for some smaller projects
before, but now it will have a final destination in the French House.

Past weeks I worked like a crazy woman
at my French House. I had lack of time,
but plenty of inspiration. Today it's the other
way...plenty time, no inspiration????????
I have actually a day of, to play with my minies
and really no idea what to do next!!!! How
frustrating is that??????????????

Some weeks ago, I went to my fathers cellar
and seized this piece of lead. It was folded en
wrinkled. It took me hours to flatten this with
a hammer. I wanted to use it for the roof.

It cost me much trouble, but eventually I
got some progress.

The roof is far from finished yet, but I like
the looks of the lead.

Because I am in lack of inspiration, I made
some plants for the house some evenings
ago.

For the base of the Ivy plant, I used some
real twigs.

Also a smaller one for in a pot.

This bouquet I put together with flowers

and a basket by Sylvia.

Well....I let you know when or if my inspiration

comes back?

Lingerie to dry!

I just came back with my family from
a little vacation in our own country.
We wend for a midweek to the Island of Texel.
I am totally relaxed now,lol!

The week before we wend, I have made some
underwear.

The bra has a real working hook.....

How to make dormer windows.

First you have to determine the right angel.
There is a very simple trick to do that. Use
a white sheet of paper and hold it against
the roof...determine how big you want to have
it and and fold it against the edge.

Your template is rady...this will be just
the right angle for the roof.

I used some thick cardboard to make the rest of the
template...it is up to you how you make it. I wanted
to have a front to fit the windows in. You can use only
your window as a front and glue the sides to it.

Hold the templates together with some tape and
now your right size dormer window is ready. You can
check if it will fit and make some adjustmant as necessary.

For the hole in the roof use the inside demensions of the
dormer (the one you gona use)....hope my explanation
will help Kathi????

I have used the carved thooth picks.

Than cut it here.....

Sand it on both sides round......

Splitt it with a sharp knife....and ready you are!

Roof almost done!

I did some work on the roof....need some
roof tiles but it is getting somewhere.

Could not help myself and started to decorate

inside...I used wallpaper Rosanna gave me as

a gift at the Paris show in 2010.

Doesn't it look just perfect?

The white wallpaper came from Sylvia, the

match is great! Picture with frame is from

Mercedes. It is a picture of Sylvia and Mercedes

waiting for me in Paris,lol!

In the back is the hallway and in the front

is the bathroom.

A Blossom Surprise!

Yesterday, when I came late from work...there
was waiting a surprise for me.

M-tje send me a kit from Hanny, to make blossom
twigs. I had seen them once on her blog and told
her that they also would be nice in my new house.

She did not forget it and make my wish come true...
How blessed am I with all those wonderful friends!

The laundry can be washed, because there

is a drying rack...made by the talented

Wim van Soest!

There is one rack more what is on its way, made

by a friend from the Dutch blog, show you

when it is arrived. That one is to hang on the

bathroom door.

One Down...Three More To Go!

Yes, I did it and I love it!

This is how the windows on this site of the
wall must look. You can shut the shutters,
if there is a need for.

Three more to go....

I had to dress up the windows in the inside
too, before I put them on there place.
For the curtains again I used a piece of
lace Mercedes send me....all the windows
will have the same curtain on this site.

I also had to add paper on the bedroom wall,
where the windows are placed.....and of course
I could not help myself and played a little with
furniture.

The bench is made by Sylvia and all of the
cusions aremade by the vry talnted Rosanna.

The most thing I like about having a house is,
that I finaly can take out all the wonderful
treasures and give them there rightful place,
instead of saving them in boxes, waiting to be used!

Gift, Bits and Pieces, Things need to be done!

Yesterday, Sylvia came to visit me, and that
is always so much fun. She loved the results,
of what I have done with the house...after
all she is the builder of this wonderful house.

Sylvia would not be Sylvia, if she came empty
handed....she made me these little baskets and
a beautiful Hyacinth....gorgeous!

Who did not finish to sweep the stairs?

This broom and dustpan is absolutely one of my
most favorite items...it is made in perfection!

The geranium is placed on a little table,
Mercedes made me...is that a little butterfly?

I also added a basket on a robe...it can be
handy for little stuff to put in what has to go
to the first floor.

Have to go through my boxes to find some
little stuff to put in....

I also will be adding a drying rack, with wet
laundry, of course!

I love what Karin did with this door....
I also would like to make a wire fence like
this for my upstairs door.
(if Ifind the right piece of wire?)

This will be a much bigger challenge....I will try to make
two lamps like this one, to hang above the doors.

Because the space on the wall next to the stairs is so empty,
(and I do not like empty spaces!) it would be a wonderful
spot to grow a Blue Rain like this one....

And the stair banister can use a climbing rose!

Much done and much to be done......to finish this side of the
house. In the meen while I started with the second wall of
the house.

Chimney and Rooftop finished!

Between all the other things I had to do, I
somehow managed to finish the chimney.

I also finished the rooftop...think it turned

out well!

The stairway railing is a done thing too!

This site of the house is almost finished...the

only thing that has to be done is the window

from the door of the first floor.

Stucco Walls!

Many of you asked about how I made the

stucco walls.

I used Gesso...if you mix it with sand it will

be much more the structure of concrete.

I used dirty water to make the walls look old.

Much of my inspiration I get from Léa Frisoni'

More progress and some changes!

First I thank you all for the amazing comments

you left on my last post! It is great to know

you like my new project and that I can inspire

some of you.

I finished my bricked fake windows...

I made a outside tap...

and a garden hose....

The doors have door knobs....

I changed the collor of the door fence....

I made a stairway fence....

I still need to finish the stairway railing...

This side of the wall is almost finished....only

need to work on the chimney. I also worked

at the roof top, but that I show you the next

time.

How I would love to work the whole day at this mini

dream house of my but, I have my kids, husband, household

chorses and a business to run. So I find my spare times

mostley between all these things and at late hours.

Last week I could make some time free to play with my

new house, but the fun is over now....I have to finish two

interior plans for my clients and that is also fun, I can tell

you!

Some progress!

Even though the house is far from finished yet,
I wanted to show you the progress so far.

As I told you, first I will compleet the exterior
of the house, before I will start at the interior.

This is the door that allowes access to the
first floor and living part of the house. The door
needs a doorknob and I like to put a grid for
the window with an ornament. I also will
place a fence for the stairs for some safetey.

The roof above the door is made from wood
and lead.

I have painted the stairs a couple of times
before I was satisfied...I like the outcome
so far.

Is there living a.....mouse?

This is the door allowes access to the kitchen.

With a layer of tacky glue, I made the window

look old...love it! You can see through but not

clear...the curtain I made from a piece of old

lace Mercedes sent me.

To keep out intruders or just for a breath

of fresh air in the kitchen, without everyone

walking in, this iron fence will be very handy.

It is the same door I used in my little kitchen.

I like this very much, also because it reminded me

of Greece where my grandmothers house also had

these in front of every door.

Have you seen there are more houses in this

picture?

Also a memorie of my grandmothers house.....

I could not help myself allready to decorate

a little bit....
The pottery table needs much more stuff, but

somehow I think it will be no problem to fill

it up with bits and pieces.

As you can see the bigger picture, this side

of the house needs still much work. The upper

walls will get some bricked windows. In the earlier

time of this building they placed windows but later

it turned out new residents prevered blind walls.

At the lower part of the wall (near the stairs) there

will be a wall painting. The chimney needs also work,

but that is for the next time....

A Dream Is Comming True!

YES, finaly I have my very own first Dolls House!

As the most of you know, I told you My friend
Sylvia was so kind to build me one...isn't that
just amazing!

Some while ago, we made the plans and drawings
for my house and yesterday I went to see Sylvia and
my new house.....well as you can imagine I was just blown
away by looking at it.

The last weeks I stoped making miniatures, because I
wanted to focus me just on this house and I even changed
my working space for it.....because the house is huge I
needed more space to work on it. When the house is finished
I will place it in my living room.

I will start with the outside of the building,

so I can make more plans for the inside in the

meen while...still changing every day.....

I am so thrilled about it...I can really explain

by words..

Hi everybody!

Even though it is already half January...

I like to wish you all a Happy New Year!

I have celebrated a wonderful Christmas and

also a wonderful New Year!

Still wanted you to show you the wonderful

gifts sent to me by my friends.

Lovely gifts from Sylvia....well I think this

need no comment to understand I love every

bit of it!

As you can see I am spoiled rotten by my friends!

There are actualy even more gifts,from Karin and Sylvia

but I have no pics of them...I could take them...isn't it that

the cupboard were I am saving them can't be

opened.

The lock is broken and because it is an

antique one, I have to need an expert to open it,

so there will be no damage.

It has to be opened, because I keep all my miniatures

in it....you can imagine how annoying it is!

Matching Bag!

bag to match.....so, I had to make one!
I also made some slippers, the size was a bit
to small, but I think a little boy will fit these
perfectly!

No Mini Today!

The past few weeks, I am terribly spoiled
by my friends.. It is a mini hobby, with so
many great friends!

This wonderful looking cute cup-cake, was sent
to me by Mercedes....I had the perfect bird
to match!

These are some of my most favorite Christmas

decorations.

Then there was a surprise from Rossana too,

an Angel Garland. Isn't it just fantastic to have all

these decorations of your friends in your home!

And this....! This is torture!!!! This is sitting under the

Christmas tree for some weeks now, and I have to wait

a whole week till Christmas!!! These are from Sylvia and

Mercedes. There are some presents for my daughter (7)

too, but she has more patience than me,lol!

Kladblogdag 2010!

Yesterday I joined the Dutch Kladblog
meeting 2010! As last year it was such a
pleasure to see some old friends and meet
some new as well!

We talked a lot about minis and eat yummie
food everybody had prepared, made some
wonderful workshops and changed gifts!

I made these cards with a little Christmas bag!

Hanny made these wonderful little soap
hangers....it is so tiny and so adorable!
I will hang it on the door knob of my
(someday) Long Island Beach House!

Hanny also prepared a workshop Lavender,
it was very simple to make but the outcome
is just amazing...it actually smell like real
Lavender!

M-tje made us a cute fabric hart with flower print
and a really tiny button...how cute is that!

Sylvia made her famous canister as a nice memory
for this wonderful day!

Jolande brought us a little candle light with a cute
Christmas bear!
She also prepared a workshop of a little fabric Christmas
tree and I managed to finish it before I had to leave for
home.

Petra (she could not come) sent us with her friend
Hanny a Christmas soap set!

Jody made this little cute Christmas hart

tree decoration....when I came home I

immediately hang it in my mini tree.

Can you see that little knitted duck?

That was a gift from Nella...her Nella dolls

are very famous in Holland!

I also bought one of her dolls, it is a little

Christmas boy!

Paula made a wonderful Christmas wall

decoration...I think it will be wonderful as part

of a Scandinavian Christmas theme...next year!

Welcome Mr.Snowman!

As I told you...I needed a Snowman to watch
over the Christmas stall. There was enough
snow to make one, so some nice kids made
me one handsome Snowman.

I told them they could use the hat I didn't sold
the last time....for the nose I picked a carrot from
my garden and for the mouth, eyes and buttons
de kids used some real rocks!

Then he needed a scarf so, I pulled out one of mine
own scarf and the kids added a pair of arms to
complete Mr. Snowman.

I love my Mr.Snowman......

Every morning we are having a little dance
in our home for opening a new advent
surprise! My daughter opens her Chocolate
treet and I, well just see for yourself....

Yesterday I have spent some time making a dear friend
(living in a country were shoes are just the bomb) a present!

I even amazed myself with the result and had to make some
more....for myself too!

I think I try more models, but first I have to find better
glue (if you enlarge the pics, you still can see some
glue rests...grrrr!)

The boots are made of very thin leather and have
a rubber sole!

These are my favorites, I simply love them!!!

Now I have some boots to choose from to

wear under my Duffel coat (made by Lissette)

and my scarf and hat (made by Sylvia)

Sold out on the Antique Market Stall!

Can you remember the little antique market
stall I have made some while ago? (klik on the
photo to go to the post)

Well, a nice French Lady came to the stall and
she bought everything there was for sale...she said
she needed it to fill her Provence House?
I was sold out in one hour.....????

I needed new stuff for sale, so I thought it would
be perfect for a Christmas Stall!!!

The only thing I miss is a Snowman...but I'm working on

that one????

The market stall is exhibited at the school of my daughter

until Christmas.

Where did the eggs go?

The eggs were stolen I think so it was time

to do something else with this eggs box.

In the calendar Mercedes made me, I found

these little cute plates and books of Cath Kidsten...

I thought it would be a shame to put it in a

box, waiting to be used in one of the million

projects I have in mind... So I made this little

shabby roombox to go with the plates.

Now I have a place to put those lovely shabby

minis in!!!!

The plates rack and the side table were made

by me, but most of the things were gifts, from

Mercedes, Sylvia and Eva.

It was a bit to dark to take the photos, but

I simply could not wait to share it with you!

I'm having so much fun opening de surprises every morning,
hidden in the Advent Calendar!

Day2: 3 bottles with some vintage lables.(beautiful)
Day3: a bottle carrying case (fantastic!)
Day 4: a Cath Kidsten box with the cutest plates
and 2 books (have a great idea to use it for, you'll see)
Day5: 2 antique sieves (if that is the right name for it)
and 3 Provence books, which I will use for the
Provence house of course.

Christmas in the air?

After I did my household chorse today (and beleive
me,there were many) I thought I deserved some
time too for my hobby.

Because I really got into the Christmas mood,....
but I thought it would be too early to decorate
my house, I started to work on some mini decoration.

First I pimped my Christmas tree. I decorated it
last year, but it could use much more decorations.
I chose the Victorian style for the tree..some day
it will be part of a project I have in mind for a long
time. In an other post I will tell you all about it!

After I was finished for so far with the tree
I decided to make more decorations...now in
the style I would use in my own house.

Loads of white and silver..... Some decorations
I made years ago, like the snowmen wreath.
Today, I made some pendants to match. Don't

To make the metal wreath I was inspired by

Advent Calendar!

As promised, I'd show you what I'm been
doing lately.

Mercedes asked me a while ago, if I would like
to do an advent calandar swap with her and of
course I immediately said,YES!

We also wanted to surprise Sylvia and agreed
to make her one too! Mercedes sent her part of
the gifts and I made a guirlande for both of them.

This week I received my calendar from Mercedes,
and Oooh it's such a feast...can't hardly wait till it
is the 1th of December.

As I like to decorate my home at Christmas

time with whites and silver, the calendar is just

perfect! I hung it in front of my mirror in the

living room.

This is the calendar I have made for Mercedes and Sylvia.

On Sylvia's blog you can see how long it actually is. It was

fun making it, but much more fun for them to open the bags

for 26 days! (we added some extra,LOL)

Despite the fact I'm still very busy with my
1:1 life, I've managed to make heaps of new
mini's.

The mini's I've made are not for myself, but for 2
dear friends. I can not give away to much, because
it will ruin the surprise. Soon I will tell you all about it!?!

Last week Karin came to visit me and we had so
much fun...there were also presents for me!

Look at all these Christmas goodies....can't
wait till it's Christmas!

I also got some nice mail from Sylvia....she

made me this wonderful patch work (knitted)

blanket. I will use it in a new project (again),

later I will tell you all about it!

If all goes well, the comming time I will have

more time for my mini hobby. I hope to post

more often en visit your wonderful blog's more

often too. I'm sorry that I recently fail at commenting

on your blog's and I hope I did not disappoint any

of you???

As some of you know Sylvia is my dearest friend,
and she always surprises me with the most fantastic
mini gifts!!!!!

Look what she sent me, a basket filled
with wool and knitting needles...isn't that cute?
She also sent me all kinds of pieces fabric, I will
use them to fill a cupboard in my Provence house.

But there was much more, she knitted me a
hat and scarf....WAUW! Sylvia realy amaze
me everytime, she is so clever and can make
anything she puts in her mind!

And how nice does it look, with the duffle
coat Lissette made me!!!!

It is just so adorable!

Arnhem Miniature Fair!

Yesterday Sylvia and I went to the Arnhem
miniature show.....and we had a great time!

Of course I spent way to much money, but
that is the way it goes.....

I also received some wonderful gifts.

This little basket, Sylvia wickered for me,
beleive me the picture does not do justice to
the perfection of it!

We also met Lissette, she made this wonderful
Duffle coat and toys....I'm realy in heaven!
I love the little details on the coat, the buttons
are amazing!

And these are all of my purchases.....some gifts for friends,
a lot of kits and some other wonderful items for my projects.

Later I will show all the items separately......I also will show
some more gifts I received from Sylvia's Lutje Boudel
and Janny- Art of Mini, but firts I have to make these
wonderful kits!

As I told you all, there is not much happening in
mini live for me at the moment, but there are
still some things I wanted to share with you.

Two weeks ago I went to see my friend
Karin, and as always we had so much fun
together. She had prepared us a wonderful
lunch and she also spoiled me with some
wonderful gifts.

The little penguin she bought for me in Venice,
it is very small and so cute!

If you will have noticed I have been absent for a while.
Unfortunately I have no time for Minies at the moment
and I fear this will continue for now. I am simply to busy

Late Birthday Surprise!

My dear friend Mercedes, has spoiled me
rotten with wonderful late Birthday gifts!

The gifts were beautifully wrapped and it was
a pleasure to open.

There was a beautiful crown shaped candle
holder in it and the cuttest bird cage I have
ever seen....now I have two!
One for the dollshouse and one for my own
house....how cute is that!

Sometimes ugly ones can be changed

with some help into something beautiful.

Like this bird cage...I cut out a opening and

removed the bird and......

TADA....!!!!

I finished this bird cage some weeks ago but

only wanted to show you when I had that last

item to put in, and make it complete.

What's a bird cage without a nest, so I asked

my dear friend Mercedes to make me one.

Her nests are the cutest and perfect for my cage.

New Stuff!

I have some new items to show you all!

The thing I most hate to do is ironing, but
I had lot of fun with making this little one.

I used as base a white iron Playmobil toy.
Some black paint and a real metal plate at
the underside and a electrical wire with plug,
makes it look more like the real one!

I also worked on some kits I purchased at

Art of Mini

A kit with vintage toy boxes for my

Toy Store!

A sewing kit with all kinds of lovely stuff.

(the buttons I added myself)

A kit with a box to keep the mail in, with

lots of letters and photos.

And this is how it looks when you put all

the items together....I think it will look

nice in the sewing room?

The pincushion I made myself, and the pins

I purchased at the show in Arnhem. They

are so tiny but somehow I succeed to paint the

tops to make them look real.

Delicious Greek Food!

Anthoula from a Miniature Life has realy make
my day!!! She send me all this delicious mini Greek food!

When I opened the parcel, I took a deep breath and hold
it in for a while....I was totaly speechless...WOW!

As many of you do not know, both of my parents
and sister and brother are born in Greece. When I was
a child we went to Greece every summer to see our family.
I have wonderful memories of these hollidays and when I
saw all this food....(I could almost smell it) the memories went
criss cross through my mind.

She made cheesepies and spinachpies just like my mother
makes them and tzatziki....yummie and a delicious dessert
my cousins sold in the bakery!

Thank you so much Anthoula for this wonderful gift and trip
through my memories....I treasure it for always,Xxx!

Jojo Madness....and other new things!

As you all know I am gathering miniatures
for the Provence House to be filled! I am
very thrilled about the idea that I will own a
dollshouse and most of the minies I make
these days will go into that little house....

But, even the house has to be build yet (can not
make up my mind about which doors and windows
to be used, ...sorry Sylvia!) I am palying with
some new ideas for an other new project I maybe
can do beside.... a little old fashioned Toy Store!

( And to think, I am already collecting for 3 million
other projects too...but hey there is still room for
one more...LOL!)

So,...I could not help myself making these

little ones! I think it will look very nice in

a jar on the counter...

They are very small as you can see.

Some while ago I also made these sun dried

tomatoes in a jar......

I also made these gas cylinders...one for the

Provence house and the other one will be

used for one of the other 3 million projects I

have in mind?

Easy Cheese!

I am very lazy these days and can not find
the energy to do anything. I also have a
sore throat and have to take some medicine
for it.

This actualy has bring me to the next idea....
why not use the empty tablet strips to make
some fine minies from?

I filled the caps with some air drying clay

and on the top I put a printable of some real

cheese.

And tada....some delicious cheese, you only

have to open the plastic box to smell it!

The fantastic chair with all the yummie food and

wine was a gift for me from the very talented and

master miniaturist Leo Furtado!

Back from France and Birthday gifts!

I just came back from a last minute planned
trip to France for the Summer Hollidays!

Before we left, it was my birthday and Sylvia
has spoiled me rotten!

She is so clever and hand made these wonderful
pieces...of course they will be used in my
Provence house!

Well, and this is a very tiny perfectly made
thimble on scale! It is so cute....

Reveal!

This little basket I made many years ago!

Never realy did know what I would use it

for, but know it finally found a destination.

It will be used to keep some ribbons, lace

and other fine trims!

This brings me to the reveal of my house.

It will be a French Provence house. The

lady who lives there loves baking and has

a tea room, were fresly baked pie is served!

In her little tea room she also sells beautiful

brocante and antiques. This lady is also very

tallented in sewing and likes to be creative

in many different hobbies!

The house will have the tea room and a large

kitchen at the ground floor. At the first floor there

will be a studio,hall and bathroom.

And under the roof there will be a little attic.

These little hart shaped gifts are from Karin.
The little door hanger is realy cute...!!!

This crochet pillow Sylvia made for me...it
fits perfectly in a chair I smarten up some
years ago! The collor just match super!

It also will have a place in my new project!

As I'm all excited about my new BIG project,
I will tell you some about it!

If you are following me, you know I have
quite a few minies collected but have no
house to put them in. The most beautiful
items are put away in boxes waiting to be
used!!!

Well...I can reveal that finally a wish come true,
and soon I will own my very FIRST HOUSE!

Because I have to little space to build one, and
also do not like that part to do so....Sylvia, offered
me to build it for me!!! (She does really like that part)

Isn't she the BEST!!!!

I get a house which I will finish at the outsite and inn!
And that is the part I like the most!

As you all understand, I have a million more minies to
make, to fill it up!

For the part what house it will be, and who will live in it....?
This part I will not reveal yet....it would be fun to hear your
ideas about it, and see if there is someone who will gues it?

So, I thought I make a chalange about it, and the one who
is closest to my idea...wil be the winner!

It was a lot of work, but I managed to make
these plants!
The kit was a present from M-tje when she came to
visit me a couple of weeks ago.

Look what I have received in the mail recently!

Some wonderful magazines from Norway.

The magazines were published by Synnoves, and

each one is like a wonderful book! The pictures in it

are of an excellent quality and full of inspiration.

Delicious Food!

Like all of you, I love all sorts of miniatures!
Still, there is one kind of minis which I think
I love the most...mini food!

Despite me quite manage to make all kinds
of minis, I have not tried making food yet.
There are so many wonderful food artists,
so my first thought was to leave it to the
real experts.

But still, I thought I give it a try?

This little raspberry jelly pudding is the result.

For the garnish I used the beautiful raspberries

from Christel.

My holiday has started well, again created

a new miniature....I'm planning to make more

so stay tuned!

Plants!

Only one days work tomorrow and then it's

time for holiday! I realy hope to spent some

time making minies. Not big projects, but all

kind of small things. I think, what just popup

at that moment in mind?

Today I have also some time to spent, and

I thought I could finish some (already) started

work. As I told you, I like o make flowers but

realy hate to make the green leafs.

So, the leafs I bought at the SIMP at Pascale Garnier

came in handy! She also sold some wonderful kits

to make more plants, but because I was running out

of money I only had a good look at the kits for some

inspiration.

The flowers of the poppy I had already made, they

just needed some green leafs. The lavender is also an

own trial.

Wonderful Paris!

We are back from Paris!

I'm still very tiered but very satisfied. It
was a wonderful adventure and we had
great fun with Sylvia.

This post will be all about our trip!
This way I hope you can enjoy little bit too.

This was the train station we arrived at with
the Thalys. Across the street was our beautiful
hotel. Our room had a real french balcony!

Of course I had to trie the bed!

Imagine... a whole city full of this kind of

buildings!

In the afternoon the big moment came to

meet our Italian friends, Rosanna and Roberta.
At the stairs of the Sacre Couer enjoying this

amazing view of Paris!

Wow.....!

It was wonderful to meet The Italian girls

The rest of the day we spent together and

we had a great time together.Rosanna

as our guide,she was almost like a native

Parisian! She could tell us anything about

this beautiful city.

I promised that it was for own use they wanted

to pose...?)

Montmartre....such inspiration!

Then we went to see the petit store of,

Léa Frisoni....

Windows with delicious yummie cakes,were

no exception in Paris..

We also had a visit at the "Passage Jouffroy"

and "Passage des Panoramas"

of the store Pain D'epices. They sell toys and

dollhouse minies.

After all the shoping, it was time to meet the

Norwegian friends, Synove and Christel.

Christel came with her family...her two beautiful

daughters and husband. Synnoves came with her

boy friend.

We had such a great time...still can't beleive it all

really happened.

Restaurant L'arbre a cannelle.

Look at the sealing of the restaurant...it was

the most wonderful decor for this accasion.

There were some gifts too...!!!!!

This is from Rosanna... fantastic wall paper,

a beautiful tray and a master piece of stitch

work...like a dream!

And there was more from Roberta too!

In this beautiful box with pink ribbon there

was a tableau with a scene making a pie...

it is so perfectly made and looking very real.

I love minie food, so she could not make me

happier!

The Ladurée bag was also a gift for me,

she gave me at the SIMP.

Ladurée at avenue Champs Elysees....heaven!

There's a long story down to our trip to Ladurée,

but when it is a bit sensitive to some people I do

not go into there (;LOL)

We went into the store but unfortunately it was

not allowed to make pictures. I also did not buy

anything, the row was to long and we simply had

not enough time.

I did manage to grab a card...the macarons

did not came from Ladurée, but I bought

them at the last minute at Mc Donalds,just

before we had to leave home!

eather! Such a wonderful treat, from such a

great artist!

Of course I had some shopping of my own....

At my wish list there was a pair of scissors

that could really cut and perfectly fit in the

sewing box I recently got from my friend

Kootje.

Well I have found it at:

Miniatur Puppenwelt Wengen.

I already knew these ladies because

I already had purchased some minies from them

at the show in Arnhem.

They have fantastic minies, and I can tell you that

my wishlist is only grown.

I also bought a cheese knife,mixer and realy

tiny needles.

And then it was time to go home......

Great time!

Last Wednesday,I invited some mini friends
to come over. As you all will agree, this
opportunity was worth to have a little party!

I invited Karin, Margriet, Kootje and Sylvia.
The lovely ladies did not wanted to pose for
the camera, with the result that this pic is the
only reasonable I could take!

Of course there were presents for everyone!
These wonderful plants for the garden are a
gift from Margriet and Kootje and the one
in the front is from Karin.

And there is more.....!
Look at all these beautiful gifts, I am
terribly spoiled!

These are the gifts I received from Margriet.

She made me this wonderful Patch work pillow
with hart and the most amazing,soft cute teddy
there is. It can even move her arms and legs...
isn't that clever!

She also brought all of us a workshop for making
a hanging Geranium...that one I will show when
I have finished it.

Then there were the presents from Kootje.

She made me this fabulous sewing box! She
knew I had one on my wish list and made a
dream come true! She also made the picture
frame with a foto of my pantry and this fantastic
book. The titel is "Romantic Tuscan Houses"
and it has real pages!

The next one is a gift from Karin.
She brought me some beautiful plants and this
wonderful wall console. It looks very old and
used...just perfect!

The picture below shows the gifts I received
from Sylvia. She made this beautiful painted
bird house...some house for birds I think!
For my pantry she made a papertowel holder.
It is just in the right color and style!

Most of my friends came from far and of
course I prepaired some lunch!

And for the afternoon a High Tea.....

This is E-beertje, he came along with Margriet
and could't resist all the delicious food...

Look...! there are more teddies with a healthy

appetite!

It was a fantastic day with some wonderful

mini friends...thank you girls!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow I'm leaving with Sylvia to Paris...

Quill with pen nib!

Sometimes, it is very dificult to make real good
detailed pictures from a miniature. For instance,
I have made this beautiful quill, but it was not
possible for me to take a good picture with my
camera. Finaly a friend of mine took these pictures,
and I'm very happy with it.

The pen nib is smaller then one milimeters.

The picture below I have made, to show you how tiny

it is, but such a perfect treasure from nature.

For some while now I'm thinking to start my own
Etsy! I aready have an account at Etsy,but have to
figure out how it works?

Before I start selling minies I first wanted to know
if there would be anyone interessted in the things
I make? Otherwise I do not bother to start an Etsy
at all!

So, I have made some mini's to have a try-out!

I have to go to the toilet again!

I spent some time working at tidbits for the
toilet. Even though it is a little room, doesn't
mean that it has to be boring, lol!

I want the walls full with little frames, and
already found one waiting to be hanged up on
the wall! Mercedes made it for me, it is a picture
of Sylvia and Mercedes in Paris, waiting for me!

The other frame hanger I made myself. I already
had made some for my friends but never one for
myself.

Mercedes made a wired basket and I had to
make one too...look at het blog for a link to
make one!

I pulled down the mirror from a broken toy

foon and added a bow. To make the bow I

used some lead and painted it first gold and

than black to age it. In the past I made a lot

of frames using the bow technique.

The little sink for the toilet is still missing, but

I already added the glass tray...and if you look

close you can see someone has put up some

lipstick today!

I made the lipstick some years ago, and the

cap actualy can be used on it just like the real one!

Kitchen Garden Update!

There has happened a lot in the kitchen garden!
A little bit of sun and rain and look, the garden is
full with vegetables!

At the pictures the vegetables look very green

and somehow a little bit fake. (duh, they are fake!)

What I mean is, in real the collors are much nicer

and it looks much more real than in the pictures.

The garden need much more details,but for

now it will do!

I did not wanted to keep you waiting to long,

so here is a little sneek preview to what I'm

up to at the moment!

I am working on a kitchen garden!

It is very small and there will be growing herbs

and greens to use for prepairing delicious dishes.

There will be a garden with flowers too, but that

have to wait for the next time.

If some of you can remeber I worked on a little shet

with garden, but I sold the whole thing,because it wasn't

at 1;12 scale. I have sold it without the minies and now

I'm so glad I can use the beautiful minies again.

This time it is going to stay!

This gate was my firts present from Mercedes!

It was the lid of a wired box, and I'm so happy

that I finaly can use it just for the right project.

The box I have transformed into a henhouse, and

it will be used in an other part of the garden.

This little water scene I also made for the

other garden, I just had to put it out of the box

where it was hidden in...like all the other stuff.

The birdhouses were also a gift from my friend

Mercedes!

As you can see there is still a lot of work to

be done. It needs much more details, the

little bricks are to clean etc, etc.

I have to make the greens and herbs,

and I need to buy some potting soil to fill up

the empty space at the floor.

But for now it has to wait until an other time!

I first want to finish the little toilet....

Toilet!

I have taken some vacation, to spend some

time at home. The last time it was very hectic

in my life and I needed some rest.

That is why I have some time to make

minies...and I absolutely love it!

There are a million to do things on my list, so it

was difficult to pick one?

I started to make a toilet which will be placed

behind the pantry...it is the second room which

will be a part of the major project I have in mind!

The toilet is adjacent to a hallway with a laundry

room opposite. At the end of the hall is a door that

allow access to the garden. (which will be the next

project)

The most time I spend on making the floor

for the toilet.
I wanted a cast granite floor, just like they

used to be in older houses!

Well.... I succeed to make one! I used

some coarse sand for it. I love the result

very much.

Of course some things are missing, like a

wash-hand basin and a door...but I just could not

wait to show it!

Yesterday, Sylvia came to visit me!
Of course we had a great time together, and we
had much fun!

Sylvia would not be Sylvia, if she came empty-handed!
She made me this wonderful street sign, to put
up on the wall at the flea market!

At the show in Arnhem, Sylvia from Lutjeboudel
sold these fabulous workshops of market stalls. I
regret that I did not bought one!

Friday I emailed Sylvia, and told her that I just
had to have one. As a lovely lady she is, she
immediatly sent me the workshop and the next day
at Saturday I received it.

Well, now it Sunday and I finished it already!
It is a record time I think!

Last week I visit Karin together with Ilayda, it was a

wonderful day and we had loads of fun!

Karin told me to bring some tranparent pen?

She had this great idea to make some jam jars, I filled

mine with delicous Apricot jam!

(well...in real we used some glue and paprika)

The wonderful valve bench is an earlier gift from Sylvia!

Rosanna made a perfectly matching mattress and pillow

using her famous stich work!

For me it is a Happy Easter indeed!

Yesterday and today, we celebrated Easter with family and
good friends! The kids had to find the eggs the Easter Bunny
had hidden...and that was a lot of fun!

The second was, I had two packages to open....

The first one was the Easter swap, Caterina had organized!
Thank you caterina for making this possible.

My swap friend was the sweet and very talented Meli, from Spain!

She told me in her card that wearing new clothes on Palm Sunday
is a tradition in Spain, so she made me the most wonderful little
girls dress I have ever seen! It is so tiny, yet so perfectly made with all it's detaills.
She also made matching shoes...they are so cute! Amazing how tiny they are!

Thank you Meli, for this beautiful gift!

Well, think these speak for them selves!

Than there was an other package....for Ilayda and me,

from my best friend Mercedes and Liberty!

Ilayda was thrilled and jumped at her chair, with joy!

Look at these wonderful treasures........ so many!!!

This little box is amazing...it is so small and perfectly made.

The little bird nest is inimini tiny....I love it!!!

Liberty and Mercedes made some wonderful

gifts for Ilayda too, to put in her little girls bedroom!

All the gifts were hidden in these cute eggs...somehow

I only could find one off them, to put on the picture?

Ilayda told me the Easter Bunny took them away to hide

them....hmmmm, I wonder if his name was Ilayda?

Mercedes made the wonderful bird houses,

and the famous little doll! The bear has also

found a nice place on the bed.

Mercedes made also the canister with rabbit

on it and the bottle with pink pearls in it!

But the most fantastic gift Liberty made!

She made cotton candy for Ilayda, well that

is something Ilayda loves very much!

Liberty also sent Ilayda a late birthday pressent..

that I will show on my other blog soon!

Yesterday, I went to the Arnhem show with Sylvia!
It is always fun when we are together and we have had a
fantastic day. Sylvia, always finds a way to surprise me...
she made me a fabulous teapot!

We also met Sylvia from Sylvia's Lutjeboudel
she is such a sweet woman and we have had a nice
talk! Sylvia sells wonderful kits, klik on her name and
go over to visit her site and to see it your self!

She gave us this wonderful kit to make this lantern!

We also met some friends from the Dutch PoppenhuisKladblog,
so fun to see some mini friends!

At the show I have seen lots of wonderful mini's, but did
not buy much...this is something I did buy!

I'm very happy with this perfect little real piece of enamel miniature!

There was some other thing we both wanted to buy very much,
but when we went back to the purchase...they were sold out!
I can not say to much about it...Sylvia was not happy at all, because I said to her it could wait...silly me! Now we have to wait for an whole other year!

There are some packages arived also for Easter but...I have
to wait till Easter....I'm so curious!
